Long-term support for coaches who want to grow with clarity and confidence.
Coaching development doesn't happen through isolated sessions or one-off inspiration. It happens over time, through reflection, feedback, and support that is grounded in your own coaching environment.
Why most coach development doesn't stick
Most coaches attend courses, collect ideas, and leave inspired. Within a few weeks, old habits return. Not because the content was bad — but because there was no structure to embed it.
Common challenges include: uncertainty around session planning and progression, difficulty adapting to mixed-ability groups, no feedback on coaching behaviour, limited opportunities for reflection, and feeling isolated in decision-making.
Mentorship addresses these challenges directly — not through more content, but through ongoing contextual support that helps translate knowledge into consistent, confident practice.
Six focus areas
Every mentorship relationship is tailored to the coach's context — but structured around these core development areas.
Coaching pedagogy
How players learn, how coaches intervene, and how environments shape understanding and development.
Player development
Adapting coaching to age, readiness, confidence, and individual needs across different groups.
Session design
Planning sessions that develop over time, connect to match situations, and challenge all players appropriately.
Coach behaviour
How presence, language, and actions shape the learning environment and player experience.
Communication & feedback
Building clarity, consistency, and trust through purposeful communication with players, parents, and staff.
Long-term planning
Structuring weeks, phases, and seasons to support sustainable coach and player development over time.

Common questions
Is this only for experienced coaches?
No. Mentorship is valuable at any stage. Whether you're just starting out and need a clear foundation, or you're experienced and want to deepen your understanding — the programme is adapted to where you are and where you want to go.
How long does the programme run?
There is no fixed end date. Mentorship works best as an ongoing relationship, not a fixed course. Most coaches commit to a minimum of three months to see meaningful development. You can adjust frequency or pause at any point.
Can my club pay for my mentorship?
Yes — and we encourage it. The Club-Funded package is designed specifically for clubs investing in their coaching staff. We can invoice the club directly and provide progress summaries to club leadership where appropriate.
What happens in the first session?
The introductory call is a free 30-minute conversation. We discuss your coaching context, your current challenges, and what you want to achieve. From there, we agree on whether and how mentorship should proceed — no obligation, no sales pitch.
Is this an evaluation or assessment process?
No. This is a professional development partnership — not an inspection. The goal is to help you grow as a coach, not to judge your current practice. You will never feel evaluated or criticised in our sessions.
Can mentorship be done in a small group?
Yes. Group mentorship for 2–4 coaches is available and can be a cost-effective way for clubs to support multiple coaches simultaneously. Group sessions have a slightly different dynamic — more peer learning, shared reflection — but follow the same structured approach. Contact us to discuss group pricing.
Not sure if mentorship is right for you?
Start with the free intro call — it costs nothing and takes 30 minutes. If it's not the right fit, we'll tell you honestly.
